After their marriage, Bob and Joey moved to the Summers family farm, where they lived and worked together their entire married life. Their son, Mike, was the fifth generation of the Summers family raised on the farm and Joey would say it was the happiest time of her life.
Joey dedicated many Sundays working in the nursery at church and she also enjoyed delivering Meals on Wheels. She was a talented cook and expressed her artistic self through painting woodcrafts, sewing and crafting. She enjoyed attending auctions with Bob and her grandchildren, and collecting primitives. She was one of the early distributors of Beanie Babies in the 1990s and sold many across Northeast Missouri.
She enjoyed selling her hand crafted goods at Pudd' N Heads in Hannibal, MO and having a booth at the BLP and Quincy Service League gift shows each November.
Joey had a calm and thoughtful presence. She will be remembered for the beautiful moments she created and shared with her family and others.
Joey was a member of First Baptist Church Palmyra.
